The Crestone Entertainment scene is flowering. From local folk to International acts, Crestone is home to a wide variety of performers and tastes. Though venue challenged, Crestone still manages to provide a wide variety of events.

The Hazlerig Music House was the first to raise the bar for quality performances in the Crestone area. Over the last five years they have brought an assortment of high profile performers the likes of which would rival Metropolitan areas. Norman Blake, Chuck Pyle, Tish Hinojosa, The Confluence string Quartet and classical guitarist Daniel Bolshoy are just a few examples. For more information call 719-256-4371

The Crestone Music Festival is another venue where this out-of-the-way mountain hamlet gets the opportunity to enjoy high profile performers. With National Headliners like Richie Havens, John Sebastian, Dave Mason, Beausoleil and Michelle Shocked, Crestone may never be the same. The festival is a two-day, two-stage, Multi-Genre, Multi-activity festival that is family friendly, Culturally diverse and features national, international, regional and local talent. This years festival will be held August 7th & 8th at the Challenger golf club in Crestone Co. Saturdays headliner will be the very animated "Dan Hicks & the Hot Licks" and Sundays headliner will be bluegrass pioneer Peter Rowan. There are wide variety of musicians that live here. They span a huge spectrum from campground pickers to national acts. Trying to name them all would surly leave someone out so instead, I will list as many of the types as I can. We have musicians that represent Classical, Celtic, Folk, Rock, Japanese Folk, Japanese Taiko drummers, New Age, Alternative Rock, Country, Bluegrass, Pop, Jazz, Spiritual, World beat, Blues, Choir and Middle Eastern music.

The entertainment doesn't stop with musicians however as we also have a variety of dancers as well as a local cowboy poet and a Theatre group.

As you can tell, Crestone has a lot going on and a lot going for it. So if you are looking for a variety of entertainment choices, you might get lost, might get stuck but you can't go wrong in Crestone.
