Moffat
Consolidated School District offers a variety of educational
opportunities for students PreK-12. The Program begins with
a 1/2 day preschool and a full day kindergarten. The Core Knowledge
curriculum is offered for Pre K-8, with Accelerated Reading,
Saxon math in elementary, computer technology, P.E., art, music,
drama, aquaculture, industrial maintenance, Spanish and other
world languages, strong math, and science programs and high
school advisor/advisee period and monthly symposiums.
Additionally, Moffat School has a 1:1 student to computer ratio and offers
advanced computer technology, and online instructional opportunities.
High school and middle school students have access to computer labs,
moveable laptop labs, and laptop checkout options. Moffat Schools have
a very good teacher to pupil ratio of about 1:10. Hot lunch is available
daily as well as free breakfast for all students.
The district mission statement on education is that students shall comprehend
fully the ideas and values that are important to our diverse community and
to their families, and shall use effectively the systems and symbols used to
represent those ideas, all within a safe environment and at a cost within the
revenue limits of the district.
The Crestone Charter School is also an option within the district, providing
an experiential program including the use of community mentors and technology.
